Although within walking distance of shops and restaurants in the village, the house is situated on a quiet road with easy access to many beautiful walks. Foz do Arelho is just a few kilometres from the lovely city of Caldas da Rainha with its wide range of shops, bars, restaurants, shopping mall, cinemas, theatre and daily fruit and vegetable market. There is a park with a boating lake with cafes nearby where you can sit under the trees enjoying a morning coffee. The picturesque mediaeval town of Óbidos is ten minutes by car. Here there is an annual chocolate festival and also mediaeval festival where visitors can dress in period costume and join in the many events taking place within the castle walls. There is a regular bus service from Caldas da Rainha into Lisbon and the airport is just one hour by car.
